CHARLIE ROCK

Charlie Rock was born and raised in New York City his passion for music began at an early age.  He began Djing at the parks and at house parties at the age of 17 spinning disco and hip hop.  At 18 he had a hit record with his rap group Fantasy 3 "It's your rock" played on the urban radio stations in New York.  He toured with the likes of Run Dmc, Kutis Blow, Whodini, LL Cool J to name a few.  After a few years the group decided to go their separate ways and Charlie Rock got into dance music.

He sign with Next Plateau and release the single "She's my baby love" and Charlie Rock the freestyle artist was born.  The song which was a hit in the dance clubs was ahead of it's time as far as radio play was concern.  He performed in clubs throughout New York & New Jersey.  He had two female dancers and his stage show was incredible so much so that the radio station WBLS in New York awarded Charlie Rock artist of the year.

Charlie Rock then went on to sign with Mic Mac records where he had several major hits including the top selling freestyle record of all time "Dreamboy Dreamgirl" by Cynthia & Johnny O.  It was a gold selling single and made Charlie Rock one of the best sort after song writers in the music business.  He wrote and Produced the Giggles album on Cutting Records and the single "What goes around comes around" won the best dance song of the year 1992.  Radio across the country were playing Charlie Rock records and where top 100 on the billboards charts.  "Love Letter and "He said she said" by Giggles were also top charting singles.

As an artist Charlie Rock released the song "Missing You" which was the #1 song on Power 96 in Miami for weeks which enabled Charlie Rock to tour south Florida with his dancers Alfredo & Angelique.  Their stage show would drive the crowd crazy with excitement.  Other songs Charlie Rock released as an artist were "Listen to your heart", "True Love", "I like my music loud" & " Running for your love".

Charlie Rock started his own record label and released a freestyle compilation which included Giggles, Face, Nyasia, &More to name a few.  The group Face had a cross over radio hit "Forever Yours" which was also written and produced by Charlie Rock.  His label CRE  (Charlie Rock Entertainment) will be releasing several Hip Hop beats compilation as well as a freestyle karaoke compilation.  It will also be releasing the long awaited new album by Giggles.  Charlie Rock has come a long way from that tiny room in harlem New York.  He has provided his fans and the music world with great songs and a catalog that will be heard to for years to come.
